Here are some tips on how to sweep the floor while on a knee scooter:

• Identify the spot you want to start sweeping. Lock your brakes, and sweep to the side of you.
• Do not try to sweep leaning forward (towards the knee scooter handlebar); you'll risk tipping over.
• Your body should always be centered with the knee scooter. Do not over-extend yourself away from the knee scooter's center of gravity (the knee rest platform)—you'll risk losing balance and tipping over.
• Once you finish sweeping one spot, unlock your brakes, move to the next spot. Lock brakes again and sweep.
• Repeat this process until you are finished.
• Locking the brakes ensures the knee scooter won't slide away from you and that you have a stable place to support your body.
• Consider getting a product like a Swiffer, or a cordless vacuum, that traps the dust and debris in a single pass. This way, you don't have to worry about a dustpan. Cleaning will be considerably easier with products like these.
• Be realistic with expectations; sweeping will take you longer with a knee scooter simply because you have to be more careful and do it at a more thoughtful and slower pace.
