"Rent a Knee Walker; buy your life back! My Swivelmate, was a true lifesaver. When I fell climbing a ladder I thought my social life would descend with an equally big thud. Three days on crutches, and I was over it - especially after losing my balance and nearly re-injuring my broken foot. Spring is my favorite time in NYC, and the thought of being stuck at home, unable to gallivant through the streets or explore central park was too much for my on-the-go self. I took the Swivelmate on the bus, into the subway, through the park to concerts, rooftop parties, outdoor movies, restaurants, a baby shower, a festival in the Catskills, Shakespeare in the park, a 3 day wedding, and was in a parade!" - Kelly L. New York, NY

This photo was taken in Woodstock, NY at an annual event my friend Kurt throws on his property, aptly named “Kurtstock”. There’s camping, music, BBQ, dancing, a lot of fun and frolic…not exactly the event for someone with a no weight bearing broken foot. Strangely enough, I wasn’t the only injured person there – there was a recovering ankle injury and a recent knee surgery to keep me company. While the others held court in one spot, fairly immobile on the grassy terrain with crutches and a wheel chair, I spun circles around them…exploring the woods, walking to town, joining the crowd on the dance floor. One of the things I found really heartwarming during my two months off my foot was how helpful both friends and strangers alike were – bringing me things, opening doors, offering to help move my walker up and down stairs so I could roll about. It really restored my faith in humanity. This photo exemplifies a moment of everyone coming together – an amazing example of how good friends, fun, and frolic can make anything blissful and beautiful.
