This picture was taken on the last day that I used the knee walker. My friend came by to help me pack it up before UPS arrived, when we decided to take a farewell picture. I live in a historic Horse-drawn Firehouse built in 1850 by the Erie Line Railroad so it is quite small. The entire downstairs, (the original firehouse and the addition) is not more than 900 square feet, so the knee walker was perfect for the space. The front of the building is right on the street and the back overhangs a tidal creek they pumped the water , to fill the tank, as fire hydrants did not yet exist at the time. The second floor served as a kitchen, meeting room, and quarters for equipment and a place to rest for the firemen. I am standing in the kitchen (which used to be the Fire Wagon was stored) near a step that marks the location of the FirePole which firemen would have used to slid down the 2nd floor.
